BasketBooster provides product recommendations for Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the app processes when a merchant installs it, how that data is used, and how it is deleted. For data belonging to a store's customers, the merchant is the data controller and BasketBooster acts as a data processor on the merchant's behalf.
The app does not collect or store customer names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, or payment details. Customers are only ever referenced by pseudonymous identifiers assigned by Shopify.
Each store's data is processed in isolation: recommendations for a store are computed only from that store's own catalog, orders, and storefront activity. Data is never sold and never used to build cross-store profiles.
Data is shared only with the infrastructure providers that host the app and its databases, and with Shopify as required to operate the app. No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.
All data is transferred over HTTPS. Access to each store's data is protected by per-store API keys, and stores are served by isolated recommendation engines.
Customers of a store using BasketBooster should direct privacy requests to that store's owner, who can act on them through Shopify. Merchants can contact us at any time about data held for their store.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new revision date.
